Green city.
Five very good walks.

Portland has more than 30 official off-leash areas and one of the biggest urban forests in the country, so the hard part is choosing. This guide picks the walks that show off the city best.

Off-leash is only allowed inside designated areas and during their posted hours; everywhere else, dogs stay leashed. Dogs are never allowed off-leash in natural-area parks, and some natural areas don’t allow dogs at all.

Before the leash comes off

Portland now issues civil fines of $50 to $150 for off-leash dogs outside designated areas, with no warning required. Inside off-leash areas, the limit is three dogs per person.
